What with the birth of Whip's triplets (*squees*), his backstory's become a bit more clear. A bit >> Will be adding to this periodically, as new things reveal themselves XD Will not always be in sequence, either >>

Family - Song of the Poisoned Scourge
Sire: Scourge of the Baleful Threat
Dam: Huntress of the Verdant Foliage (lead mare)

Other Song Members
2nd Mare: Delight of the Flying Feathers
3rd Mare: Shadow of Hidden Death
4th Mare: Wrath of Cheated Beliefs

Older Sister: Cunning of the Threatened Huntress (daughter to Huntress)
Older Half-brother: Slash of the Wrathful Scourge (son to Wrath)
1st younger half-brother: Demise of Threatened Beliefs (twin, son to Wrath)
2nd younger half-brother: Passage of the Sinister Threat (twin, son to Wrath)
3rd younger half-brother: unknown (son to Shadow)
1st younger half-sister: unknown (daughter to Delight)

Cunning and Slash are the same age, about 2 years older than Whip. Demise, Passage and Whip are all the same age. The two unknown foals are 2 years younger than Whip. He knows they exist, he was there when they were born, but he does not know their names. This will be explained later.

Scourge, Huntress, Delight, and Wrath are all Samanayr'sa'kriens. Shadow is a normal Samanayr, although one with an ability for poisons. Scourge has a poison tail, as does Slash and Passage.

Whip of the Baleful Hunter grew up in the deep jungle, the younger foal of the lead mare, and her only son. Despite having an older half-brother by the fourth mare of the Song, he was viewed as the favorite son, the heir to the tricks and secrets for truly successful jungle living.

Wrath, unfortunately for Whip, took exception to that. Her son was older. He should have been the heir. And that's where Whip's troubles began.
