Logo for Samanayrs! Colors?

I've been meaning to do an ~*~official logo~*~ for Samanayrs for a while, and thanks to oakleafwolf's awesome vector templating skills it's now a reality



I'm still trying to figure out what the colors should be, I like these blues but I feel like it's too formal. Any suggestions? Design colors are so not my thing XD;

It looks great Sushi! My one suggestion would be to try and add the Samanayr hooves so it looks a little less My Little Pony and a little more Samanayr.

I did a little colour experimenting and this was my favourite I came up with, it matches Glint and the forum icons:

Ooh, I love the rainbow mane and tail. The brighter colors definitely make the logo "pop" more. And I agree with silvermoondragon, the design is reminiscent of MLP. Hooves would definitely help. Maybe also thin the legs a bit?

I would avoid a black background and rainbow - great for digital media but you can get all sort of color problems during printing such as the black looking grey, a choppy gradient on the rainbow, ect.


However I think the white or blue body with orange mane, horn and wings against the blue background would look very nice. As compliments the blue will make the orange 'pop' and warm tone it will make the image feel less somber. Ex:

I think thinning the legs and giving it more of a hoof-y outline would definitely be nice. And I'm digging Echos's colors - I do like the white body as a main, and the lighter blue background too. I think one solid color for the other extremities would be easier/smarter to do. Oranges or maybe even green if it looked nice enough.

I'm... Not really sure what happened here. I'm pretty sure I was just trying to vote for greens on the blue background and see what hoof-y legs would look like. Not sure if hooves should be the same colour as the body, if you decide to go that way?
Things just got out a bit of hand.
Aiyah... I don't know why there is a scarf or splotchy markings. XD;;

Thank you so much for your feedback and color suggestions Although I do love my rainbows, I think I'm going to stick with solid colors just for ease of reproduction. And CosmicDragon, I do love that scarf, very appropriate for the weather here right now XD

And now that you've mentioned the MLP thing I can't unsee it XD; I did a very quick fiddle with it this morning, do you think this is more Sam-like?

I like the first Logo, but I do agree about it looking a little bit MLP-ish.

I really like the edit for the fluff and cloven hooves a lot. The hooves especially make it look more sam like.

Love the new one sushi. Maybe instead of just sams spelled on the bottom have it like the scarf around the neck just to be a little different. Wish I had a good puter and design program like I use to when I worked for sign shop long time ago or I would draw it up. Made logos all the time xp
