Fallen in the dirt Flash watches as his competitors fly by him. There would be no way to win the race anymore. At this point he'd have to give it his all or go home in shame. Finding his feet again the Lamanayr shook the dust free of his coat, and took off at a hard run to catch up to his competitors. At least his pride could still be intact.

Confidently Trumpet surged ahead, leaving those on either side of him far behind. He could see some handful of runners still deeper into the hills than he was, but not by much. He considered taking another hard run at it and striving to overtake them, but the finish line was still some distance away. No, no, now was a good time to settle into a nice, normal strutting run to show himself off on the nice open, clear stretch. Take a little rest, save himself for a big surge in a bit. Would be a terrible thing if he pushed on now and then faltered on the final leg. Preening smugly to himself the stallion loped on.

Slice kept up his nice normal pace. No need to be caught off-guard by an obstacle this far into the race.

Recline Decides to take another EASY pace. She knows another obstacle must be coming and she wants to save her strength for it.

Crack has fallen last and has decided to just take it easy. She has accepted that her competitive spirit was not enough for the obsticles, those mercilous rodents! She decided to take it Easy And get through the holes, obviously she wouldn't get through them without care, running scared obviously is not the way.

Crack takes up an easy pace to get through the obsticle.

good luck to the winners! Crack and I will try though we are happy to have participated! She hasn't given up....just accepts that she will not win. ^_^ either way I'm so proud of her!

'What am I thinking?! NO! Slow down! Slow down!' Flyssa of the Lost Traditions decided at this point to take a breather, settling down into a somewhat normal pace, so as to not blow out all of her reserves before reaching the finish line.

At least he was making some ground now. He needed more speed, at least for a little while. Not slowing at all Flash continued to run hard down the path.

((Confused...it says Trumpet easily leaps the river...but he hasn't reached it yet. Should I go by the picture for where he is or by your text?))

((Alright, thanks, now I can figure out how he wants to move from there!))

As a stream loomed ahead Trumpet carried right on, leaping and splashing his way through. The cool water of the shallows at either end felt nice on his feet and left him feeling frisky and energized again. Glancing along the sweep of the race he cheerfully noted that he had pulled back up to the front of the field. Trumpeting joyfully the stallion swept forward. The end of the race was drawing near, so close he could practically taste it! Heedless of the chance of further obstacles ahead he sprinted for the line. A good hard push or two should see him to the end!

Oh, goodness! Hubby kidnapped me earlier. Made me go look at flooring. >_>

Flight's tired of the normal pace and pushes hard, trying desperately to catch up.

So close...the end of the race was so close! He could see the finish line up ahead and that sight gave him a final surge of energy, a second wind. He was going to have to give it his all for this last run. There was a tight cluster of them all up and running at the front of the field and he had to beat them all out if he was going to really impress the ladies. Or at least beat most of them. It might be nice to take, say, second instead of first and let some nice little mare console him. Mind, it would be nicer still to actually take first and be able to show off his racing prowess, but any medal would be good really.

Enough daydreaming, he suddenly reminded himself, got to CHARGE! One final surge, so close... With one more hard push he leapt for the finish line, imagining himself running neck and neck with those further down the line as they raced for the prize. Stretching his neck out he imagined himself winning by the length of his nose. The image made him grin, and encouraged him to another burst of speed. Nice as that thought might be, that was a little close for comfort.

((Oh, and I just noticed, did Trumpet use his 1 endurance to cross the stream and just not have it noted? He had 1 endurance in round 5, then it was gone in round 6.))

I have always wondered how the ending is decided. If more than one of us pass the ending line by the end of this turn how is 1st 2nd ect determined?

((Silver, looking at your map he's in the river, but according to your text he jumped it. So I'm just going to respond to what you have written.))

Having leaped the river he could finally see the others in front of him. He wouldn't be among the top three, but at least he would make his son proud by having done his best in the race. Pushing hard he hurried toward the rest of the group.

@ Origami_Dragon - no its still there and somehow got itself deleted from my post, but at this point in the race with no obstacles left it isn't needed anymore.

@ Tasmen - the ending is decided first based on the round the Samanayr finished in, and if multiple Sams finish in the same round, there is another roll to determine who comes out ahead of who.

@ Orasteel - he's just on the other side, his role got him as far as the river and he managed to jump it, but had no more movement points left to get any farther. It's just a limitation of the squares...
