It's trivia time, so get your thinking (or Googling) cap on It's easy enough - answer these 10 questions about dog breeds, and everyone who gets them all correct will be entered in a draw to win one of these Sams!
(Pad's not entirely sure it's fair that there's no cat-related questions in the quiz)

Rules!

- There is a limit of one entry per person.
- Please just enter on PI or the Sam forum, not both places.
- Don't post the answers in this thread!
- Some of the questions have more than one answer, but I'll accept anything as long as it looks like it fits!

To participate, just send me a PM with the subject "I know, I know!" and the answers to the following questions:

1. Which breed is the tallest?
2. Which breed has the keenest sense of smell?
3. Which breed is the fastest?
4. Which breed is the heaviest?
5. What is a sighthound?
6. Give an example of a breed that originated in Japan.
7. Which breed doesn't bark?
8. Give an example of a breed that originated in Germany.
9. What is one of the rarest breeds?
10. What is one of the smallest breeds?

I'll be accepting answers until May 3, 11am PDT/18:00 PI time. At that time I'll draw the winners from everyone who submitted the correct answers Good luck!

Also, I went way overboard with the German Breeds. XD I gave like 7 in parentheses...

Lots of answers from lots of knowledgeable folks I certainly wouldn't have known all of the answers without help from our friend Professor Google! Here's the answers I have, although I was very flexible with what I accepted for answers

1. Irish Wolfhound or Great Dane
2. Bloodhound or Beagle
3. Greyhound
4. Mastiff or St Bernard
5. A dog that hunts primarily by speed and sight rather than scent and endurance
6. I used Wikipedia's 'Dog breeds originating in Japan' page XD
7. Basenji
8. Wikipedia was my guide again here ;D
9. There were a lot of these XD Some of the rarest I found were Lundehund, Shar Pei, Otterhound, Karelian Bear Dog, Lagotto Romagnolo, New Guinea Singing Dog, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Puli, Thai Ridgeback, Catalburun, Mudi, Carolina Dog, Tibetan Mastiff, Azawakh, Stabyhoun, Chinook, etc etc. I'd never heard of most of these breeds before!
10. Chihuahua seems to be the most common, but there's a few different tiny dog breeds now XD
