This month's race takes place around an active volcano! But don't worry, there are Sharians and Healers standing by in case anything goes wrong.

Volcano Flight

This is a flying course over and around an active volcano! Because this is an aerial course, participants must be able to fly.

There are 10 spots open for this race.


Racing applications are now OPEN. The apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon, either on the forum or PI(pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed or you miss getting the spot you want), with the subject as Volcano Flight and the following form filled out:

Samanayr ID:
If the Samanayr is not yours, do you have permission from the owner to use it?
If the Samanayr is not yours, do you understand that any hairclips won cannot be equipped to it unless they're given to the Sam's owner?

Applications will be open until 3:00pm PST, November 30. The race will be run November 30, at 4:30pm PST

Also, having a hard time deciding between Flame's Embrace, and Lash *eyes them*

I didn't even get a chance to think about who to choose. The instant I saw the word volcano, Misery of the Burning Shadow lunged out and insisted it would be him. Fortunately he has wings so I don't have to explain to my little pyro why he can't race around the volcano...or at least enter the draw to race.

I went with Lash XD I figured armor was less flammable than hair *eyes Flame'sEmbrace~Mystic's floofiness*

I was very tempted to enter Misery, until she informed me in no uncertain terms that she doesn't ever want to be seen at public events, or join a Song. |D And since neither fluffy air Mystics nor pudgy Minayrs really mix with volcanos, and Slice already has a medal... Renegade it is. xD Hopefully feathers aren't too flammable? |D

Cynic will be sneering/supporting on the sidelines when (if?) he races *nods*

Only have one sam with wings, but I doubt that spectral vestigial wings will even get her off the ground. *prods Sentinel*

@Lv - derp.. you're right, I had a feeling I had missed changing something over, that's the trouble with copy/paste. It's fixed now.

Fancy of the Phoenix's Flight was just a little too perfect to not enter... I know she's just a Sa'grisayr and not an elemental or anything, but I get the feeling she'd love to take a bath in that lava...

Really, she's bouncing up and down in the corner, babbling about how much fun it's going to be and if this might be the volcano the most PERFECT STALLION IN THE WORLD brought her to on a date and... well, I'm sure you can see where that was going! :3

Quite the interesting crowd we've got racing today! Looks like most of the magical species are represented! Hope Misery doesn't get too bothered by being lined up alongside a Mystic. Good luck everyone!

The race itself will begin in a few minutes, I'm just finishing up some last minute things...

The participants stand ready to go, just as the volcano starts to rumble...

Misery flexes his wings and smirks, but refrains from trying to poke the volcano with magic. With two other fire magic wielders around, one of which is an Elemental he's too likely to be caught tampering. Anyways, waste of energy that he might need to win this thing.

Elsewhere...Wrath bounces in with a sign attached to her antlers proclaiming, "GO SISTER!" and settles in to watch.

Daww, looks like Lash didn't make it in. Were the entrants randomized?

As the starting signal sounds, the racers start off with a bang, but it looks like the volcano has other ideas. A thick black smoke begins to pour out of a vent rather close to the start of the race as our first obstacle.


@Lv - yep, the entrants were randomized, and there were actually quite a few this time!

My...not much spreading out at the start in this race! Almost everyone got blinded by the smoke it seems!

Some racers escape the smoke, but as the volcano rumbles beneath our racers, what could be next?

Oh good, at least I didn't do anything wrong XD

*watches Misery snort smoke out of his nose and glare back at the cloud before charging onwards through the sky*

Wrath: *bounces and cheers* Go sisteyr! You can do it! No silly smoke is going to beat my sisteyr!

*pokes her* Cheer for Misery too.

Wrath: *pokes back with one spike* I'm cheeyring foyr my SISTEYR. Not baldy. *resumes cheering*

The race continues on and the racers get closer and closer to the volcano's opening

Aw Mask... you can do it!

I totally didn't know these were going on XD yay!

Misery! Stop glaring at the smoke and focus on the race! And no pondering nefarious uses for smoke at your home volcano either!

Look at Pyre go! Fire Elemental seems to be right at home here!

Wrath: *bounces, making a strange clattering sound as her spikes strike and scatter loose pebbles* Gogogogogogogogogo!

*eyes Misery* I really should set up a RP for him...I think he miiiight be interested in a Song for the right personalities. He likes others around him. Admittedly so he can tease and torment them most of the time... Maybe set after the race...

The volcano's heat is most intense over the mouth, and may cause problems for some of the racers as the second obstacle.
