Samanayrs

As the Samanayrs gather together for a new set of festivities, the Sharians gather together a bunch of hot air balloons for the next race, a sky course where the Samanayrs are racing a balloon from start to finish. The finish line flutters in the breeze above, a brilliant site for those who look up into the sky.

Birthday Balloons

This is a hot air balloon course, Samanayrs will be choosing hot air balloons to race in. Samanayrs must stay in the balloons while racing

There are 10 spots open for this race.



This race is similar to the toboggan race and involves your Samanayr racing in a hot air balloon of choice. In your racing application you will choose 1 of the 3 available hot air balloons based on their stats. You’ll also pick a colour, but that’s just for fun.

Speed: How fast the hot air balloons can go while up in the air
      1 = roll of 1,2,3
      2 = roll of 2,3,4,5
      3 = roll of 4,5,6
Lift: How fast the hot air balloon can go during the ascension phase(at the beginning of the race)
      1 = roll of 1,2,3
      2 = roll of 2,3,4,5
      3 = roll of 4,5,6
Maneuverability: How well you can avoid obstacles
      1 = x2 more difficult
      2 = normal difficulty
      3 = x2 less difficult

The race will be similar to usual layout with obstacles; however, there is a slight difference. The first part of the race involves the racers reaching a certain height(which will be at half the course), this part of the race relies on your balloon's lift. Once the Samanayrs reach the designated height, the race continues as normal with this part relying on your balloon's speed. Currently, traits have no effect on the hot air balloons or the obstacles your Samanayr will come across on the race. As the finish line has been place up in the sky, there is no need to descend until after the race.

These are the hot air balloons available to choose from:
NOTE: I'm not an expert on hot air balloons, so these traits are probably not 100% accurate

Rozière balloon
Speed: 1
Lift: 3
Maneuverability: 2

Montgolfier Balloon
Speed: 3
Lift: 2
Maneuverability: 1

Solar Balloon
Speed: 2
Lift: 1
Maneuverability: 3

So for example, a Samanayr in a Rozière balloon would rise with rolls of 4, 5, or 6, but would then move forward with rolls of 1, 2 or 3; When hitting an obstacle, the Samanayr would have normal chance at getting past.



The best part, of course. Prizes will be assigned to the first, second, and third place racers in each race. The main prize for each place in this race is a balloon. A balloon is a globe of light attached to a string. They act like a permanent modiem, and depending on the place you win, you can choose a modiem of different point values. Like medals, balloons are special items and can only be equipped to the Samanayr that won it. If you're borrowing a Samanayr from someone else, you'll receive the pixel balloon image for your inventory, but you won't be able to equip it to the winning Samanayr unless you give the balloon to the Samanayr's owner.
For now, a Samanayr can only wear one balloon at a time, but balloons can be equipped and unequipped. There is also no limit to how many balloons a Samanayr can win! Also for this race, are cupcakes. These tasty treats, when used in a breeding, will give the foal(s) one of the following traits, determined randomly:
- Mini
- Vestigial feathered wings
- Folded ears
- Upright hair
- Bob tail

First place

- Balloon (any modiem)
- Cupcake


Second place

- Balloon (any 2-3 point modiem)
- Cupcake


Third place

- Balloon (any 2 point modiem)
- Cupcake

A line of balloons float gently in a field, tugging ever so slightly at their tie down ropes. A Samanayr waits inside each one waiting for the signal to start the race and begin the ascent to the skies.

At the mark, the helpers untie the balloons and they begin rising into the sky, as a rainbow of colours.

Whee! Come on Melody, blow harder, maybe that'll help your balloon to rise XD

Pyre: *watches some balloons shoot ahead, hisses and sparks angrily*

Go-go Pyre! ^0^ You're in the middle of the pack, that's not so bad... Maybe sticking your flame-head inside the balloon will help?
Feather and Helix shot right out of the gate there, didn't they? :O SERIOUS SPEED.

This next round uncovers two obstacles, the first a heavy bank of clouds that obscures the balloonist's vision, the next being a crowd of angry birds dive bombing the racers.

We keep rolling at the bottom of our bracket. |D Oh dear. That does not bode well for the next section. But lookit Helix breeze right on through everything! She definitely knows her way around a balloon.

As the race continues, the spectators down below marvel as the coloured balloons grow smaller and smaller, turning to dots in the sky.

Feather may not be able to walk, or fly, or swim terribly well, but she sure can pilot a balloon! :D

A few balloonists have now hit the height marker and start to head forward towards the finish line.

@LvSoulFriend - Yep, after that point, your speed becomes more important that your lift.
