Mountain Hike

This is a ground race set on a mountain. Participants will be climbing up the side of a mountain. There will be snow, there will be ice, and all sorts of other treacherous mountain obstacles.

There are 10 spots open for this race.



This month's holiday race will provide special hairclips for the participants! Winners of this race will get to choose one of the following three hairclips from the prize pool:
Snowflake hairclip: Offspring will have the glacies trait.
Reindeer hairclip: Offspring will have antlers.
Holly hairclip: Offspring will have florae trait, with sprigs of holly.

First place

- First pick from the hairclips(snowflake, reindeer, or holly).
- One modiem of choice
- One random modiem

Second place

- Second pick from the hairclips(snowflake, reindeer, or holly).
- One modiem of choice

Third place

- The hairclip left over
- One random modiem



The apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon (pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed), with the subject as Mountain Hike and the following form filled out:

Sorry it's been so long since the last race guys, I've just been so busy I haven't had a chance to run one. Since I have a few days before I fly home for the holidays, I figured I better sneak one in while I have a chance! Hopefully I can get back into doing them more regularly once I get back into the swing of things again...

YAY! So excited for another race. I really love watching them even when I'm not in them. XD

A number of Samanayrs wait at the base of a mountain, their breath fogging in the air as they wait for the starting sound.

Whoo, so glad I'm online to catch this! It's so much fun to watch as it happens

Go Vision! Use those scouting skills!

As the race starts, the Samanayrs head up the slope leaving soft marks in the powdery snow behind them.

This round has our first obstacle appear, a patch of slippery ice.

The ice slipped up a few racers last round, but this round has the majority passing over the obstacle to continue their hike up the mountain.

As the racers start forward this round, there's a rumble overhead. All of a sudden there's an avalanche rolling down the mountain. All the Samanayrs are fine, but some have lost a little ground in the tumble.

Oh no! Be careful, racers! D:

The Samanayrs shake and brush the snow off their coats and continue on, a little shaken up but good to go.

As the racers continue on, some racers are starting to get closer to their goal.

The next obstacle has shown up, a deep chasm runs across our racers path and they must somehow make their way across it.

And with that, Glory has crossed the finish line.


In first place we have: Echos' Glory of the Emerald Spring

Shifter, this is your element! Use your powers!

Next we have Mystic of the Iridescent Icies crossing the line. Now, who will be our final winner?


In second place we have Codress' Mystic of the Iridescent Icicles

With this last round, we have a tight call between Omen and Mystic of the Iridescent Skies. The Sharians even had a tough time making out the winners from the cloud of snow that followed, but in the end Mystic was just a little ahead.


So with that we have our winners:
