Trick Trek

This is a ski course, Samanayrs will be sliding down a course and performing tricks at certain points in the course.

There are 10 spots open for this race.



This time, Samanayrs can choose to ski, snowboard, or neither (eg. slide down on their bellies or flippers), although this choice does not (currently)effect how they will race.

The race will still have the usual layout with 3 obstacles; however, this time obstacles will be more like ramps for performing tricks. On each obstacle, the racers will choose which trick to perform. Samanayrs will earn points based on speed as well as which trick they perform and how well they perform it.

Points:
There are three areas that Samanayrs can earn points
Uniqueness
1 – trick performed was most common for that obstacle
2 – trick performed was average for that obstacle
3 – trick performed was least common for that obstacle
Speed
0 - Samanayr was not 1,2,or 3
1 – Samanayr reached the finish line third
2 – Samanayr reached the finish line second
3 – Samanayr reached the finish line first
Trick Performance
0 – Samanayr was unable to perform trick
1 – Samanayr was able to perform trick
? – Trait bonus
At the end of the race, the Samanayr with the most points will win. In the event of a tie, Random.org will determine the winner.

Tricks:
- There are three tricks that can be performed: Grab, Flip, and Spin
- Tricks are chosen for each obstacle in your racing application
- You may change your chosen trick as long as you state your change at least one round in advance. This can come in handy if your Samanayr is one of the last ones to hit an obstacle.
- There is a small chance that your Samanayr might fail to perform their trick
- Traits can affect your trick performance. This might cause them to miss their trick or may provide mysterious bonuses or embellishments to the trick. Just like normal races, you won't know what effects these might be, but for example, a Samanayr flaring out magnificent wings during a grab might wow an audience, or might catch the wind during a flip and unbalance the Samanayr.


The holiday hairclips are back for this race! Winners of this race will get to choose one of the three hairclips from the prize pool:
Snowflake hairclip: Offspring will have the glacies trait.
Reindeer hairclip: Offspring will have antlers.
Holly hairclip: Offspring will have florae trait, with sprigs of holly.

First place

- First pick from the hairclips(snowflake, reindeer, or holly).
- One modiem of choice
- One random modiem

Second place

- Second pick from the hairclips(snowflake, reindeer, or holly).
- One modiem of choice

Third place

- The hairclip left over
- One random modiem

Question; do we have to equip a winning samanayr with the hair clip? Or can it be any of ours? I suppose I need a slight refreshing of my memory, heh.

@Esperanza - no problem, the hair clips are only equippable to the winning Samanayr. The race info thread viewtopic.php?f=43&t=2333 actually goes over all the prizes if you want more of a refresher, or you can ask, I don't mind.

@Origami_Dragon - the second option as the placing scores(first, second, third) are added up with the trick scores to determine the winner. So there may be a winner who didn't place in the top 3.
