I don't know if we're allowed to suggest traits or anything... But I reckon a cool way to do her would be to have her lying down with her back to us, and with the scales trait. That way, the scales could be arranged on her back as the 'keys'!

http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk18 ... glider.jpg
Why would this animal make an awesome mimic?
Who wouldn't love this adorable little critter? A Sugar Glider is a small marsupial and the females have a pouch where their young develop. These little guys are nocturnal and are named for their preference for eating sweet foods such as sap and nectar. A Sugar Glider is quite sociable, intelligent, inquisitive, and often forms a strong bond with an owner when kept in captivity as a pet. When gliding, they can go up to 100 meters and will steer themselves using their long fluffy tails as a rudder and brake.
The Sugar Glider would make a great Samanayr mimic because is is around the right size, they also live together in family groups lead by a dominant male, and they work together to protect their territory. A gliding flap(Patagium) would make an awesome new trait for Samanayrs, especially for Aboreal Samanayrs.

Why would this animal make an awesome mimic? I think it would make a very unique Samanayr! It's spiky and colorful, and I'm very interested to see how a caterpillar would become a Sam. :)

Dawn Angel - Charles Frederick Worth was a designer who dominated Parisian fashion in the latter half of the nineteenth century. That is one of the dresses he designed. ^__^

Animal name: Manta Ray (Manta birostris)
Description (written and/or picture): Mantas are amazingly graceful creatures. Their bodies are large and flat with wings on either side and a long whip tail. Their bodies are mostly black. They have large white markings on their tummies and unique symmetrical markings on their backs. They have large horns jutting from their faces that have earned them the nickname "Devil Rays." On their undersides they have large gills. On their backs they have a small dorsal fin right on the spine where their tail protrudes.

Why would this animal make an awesome mimic?
Mantas (Manta birostris) are the largest species of rays, and in my opinion, the most beautiful. Did you know the largest recorded was more than 7.6 metres (25 ft) across and weighed about 2,300 kilograms (5,100 lb)? That's huge!

Mantas have adapted in a special way; from bottom-feeders to open ocean filter feeders. This is what has allowed them to far surpass their other ray cousins. Mantas feed by filtering water through their gills and catching plankton, fish larvae and other small organisms. It's amazing to think that such an immense animal lives by feeding on something so tiny!

One of the things that make Mantas so cool (and makes them one of my favorite creatures!) Are their tenancy to breach the surface of the ocean and launch themselves into the air! As far as I'm aware, scientists aren't sure why they do it, many think it's a mating ritual, some think it might just be for fun! Whatever the reason, what a sight to behold!

Mantas are graceful - similar to a bird gliding through the air currents, mantas "fly" through the water. They are gentle and friendly, intelligent and curious. In fact! if one happens along, you might be able to catch a ride! In some places, Mantas seem to really enjoy humans and will actually seek out divers to interact with them. They will even surface near boats with stopped engines.

Another really neat thing about mantas if their relationship with remoras (and other cleaning fish.) Often you will find a remora swimming with a Manta, cleaning off parasites and dead tissue. This is beneficial to both creatures and makes a wonderful partnership.
I actually think if there a Sam were to be made into a Manta Ray mimic, a small pet remora would be an amazing addition. It would just make him perfect xD

Mantas are a magnificent animal. They combine power with elegance in their body shape. Their white on black markings are stunning, and the little horns that poke from their heads just make them adorable! :D

A Manta Ray would make a perfect Samanayr because the Samanayr would be amazingly unique. He would be quite at home in the water with other tropical Aquatic Sams, and be perfect to begin a character with. If he were to start a song and breed, he could pass some interesting traits to his children - especially if he bred with a land-bound mare! Imagine! A poor little colt with four legs, a whip tail and ray-fin wings! What a sight!

We've had some action this evening!

LvSoulFriend was the winner of the Rhino mimic Sam in the game of pass-the-mimic, yay :D Orasteele also won a semi-custom pet token!

The DS mimic Sam also made an appearance on the Samanayr Stalk page! 23 people sent in their PM in time, but in the end random.org decided that the DS mimic would go home with AsaraDragon - congrats :D

Maybe your DS should have a name, Sushi! Like... maybe... Shepfield or Sidney or even....

WEATHERBY <3

I have a plush snake named Rutherford Weatherby, but he's a snake, so he pronounces his name "Russerford Weasserby".

Aaaaand I'm done weirding up this thread now. >_> That is, after Puuka and I have fuzzy, badonkadonk manta babies.

Congrats Asara! She's an adorable little game system Sam! Better keep her away from the Pokemon thread though! Someone might just try to plug their game into her and start playing!

My DS is about as different from the little dear as can be...I've got a black one. XD
