Rend:
It amazes me how his personality can go from malicious to protective to possessive/caring father. >_> He's sooo messed up sometimes. Awesome Job!

Wow...looking at Rend's personality there I'm goint to say that he wouldn't complain about Hum treeing someone...other than maybe to grouse because she neither killed them nor got them OUT of their territory. But on the plus side she'd have them cornered for him to deal with... And yes, I have imagined Hum treeing someone before...
All sorts of interesting costumes appearing here in the last few hours of the contest!

Yeah, he'd be perfectly okay with Hum doing that. So territorial my elemental boy is. He tries to put on his nice face for them, really he does. ^_^;;
Re: Costume contest - open now!
Seclusion of the Moonlit Shores nodded grimly as the first layer of the costume went on, secretly pleased how well the white and pale gold cloth folded around her; the cape was so full and thick, it could easily pass for the dress she was hoping for. The large white gold brooch and matching circlet with their dangling sapphires came next, completing the look of utter, foolish decadence; now for the difficult part. The mare sighed as they fit the framework of curved, weathered planks on her back, wondering if it would hold all the weight to come- or if she could for any length of time, for that matter. Too proud to admit any potential flaws in her costume design though, she merely lowered her head as they attached the bowsprit, complete with one tattered flying jib of a light, gauzy material to flicker eerily in the wind as she moved along. Finished with that, she straightened up, testing her shipwreck; it actually wasn't as bad as she feared it might be, though she'd have to remember not to jerk her head too far backwards for any reason. The last touch then, as a pair of pale wooden wings were attached to the very front of the bow, overlapping her shoulders and bringing her fully into the design- the angelic figurehead of a ghost ship, lost from the rest of the vessel. She nodded once again and nearly smiled, wondering if she could convince anyone to be the back half after all.
List of known things Janalee can't draw:
Folded/tattered cloth
Manes
Pretty much any part of a ship
*grins* Oh well, hopefully between the sketch and the writing, it'll be a little more clear what I was going for. And no, I have no idea why I've been obsessed with ghost ships lately; I'm going to blame The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald...despite the fact that I seriously doubt it had a figurehead for the costume to be inspired from. XD
Oh, and you don't necessarily have to enter this costume into the random draw Sushi, unless for some reason you think it'd be really fun to draw. ^^ I was just having a good time designing it.
*laughs* And I just have to say that I would have loved to see Inferno "help" Rend with his creepy, creepy costume. ^^

Costume Contest Entry
Here is my last-minute entry for the Costume Contest. Passage of the Bold Storm and Tyra decided to enter together as pair to represent San and one of the wolves from, "Princess Mononoke"- a highly-acclaimed Japanese animated historical fantasy feature film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki of Studio Ghibli.
EDIT: Sorry, I got one of the names mixed up. ^^;
EDIT 2: I had forgotten to mention that the non-white sections of Tyra's fur were dyed in a temporary, non-toxic dye specifically formulated for canines. The white dye will wash out, and the Oquiesa is going return to her normal colours after Halloween. Bold, however, would love to have San's outfit for a costume!

Re: Costume contest - final results page 2!
The polls are officially closed, and here's the results
Most Creative
This was a close one, but in the end Harroway's 'Van Gogh's Starry Night' won with 24% of the vote!
Funniest Costume
Zephyr's 'Blue Screen of Death' with 60% of the vote!
Scariest Costume
Britain's 'A Warning' with 40% of the vote!
Congrats to all of the winners! I'll be adding the prize items to your inventories later today.
A huge thanks to everyone who entered the contest and voted! It was awesome seeing what you all came up with for costumes
Today or tomorrow I'll be putting up the schedule for November. There won't be as much going on event-wise since I'll be busy with NaNoWriMo and NaNoSamMo, but we will be gearing up to some fun in December
And if you haven't seen the costumes yet, superdoug's and Perf's are now in action:

Re: Costume contest - final results page 2!
*bounces around excitedly* I'm definitely curious to see what ends up in my inventory Whee!!!
Congrats to the other winners - I avoided looking at the 'scary' category, 'cause - I'm a complete wimp D: D: But I loved looking at all the others Thank you for the fun events, Sushi - I'll be moaning with you on NaNoWriMo. The pressure! The panic! The stress! The sheer exhilaration of attempting the (seemingly) impossible! It's a contagious madness

Re: Costume contest - final results page 2!
Congratulations Zephyr, Britain and Harroway! Each of your costumes are deserving of the titles as 'funniest,' 'scariest' and 'most creative' respectively.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to have some spooky fun in this costume contest, Sushi. It was really interesting to what everybody's Sams were dressed up as for Halloween. <3
