Frightful Fog

It's that time of year again, ghosts and ghouls are out in force, and the Hotsprings are getting ready for some Halloween fun. Unfortunately a dense and creepy fog has rolled in, threatening to put a hold on the festivities. The race organizers however don't worry, as it just adds a little more excitement to the race, the better for hiding obstacles!

Apply to Race

Frightful Fog

This race is will be run through the fog, and may include a few more obstacles than normal since when you can't see very well, anything can be an obstacle! This is a ground course, so flying is not permitted.

There are 10 spots open for this race.


Racing applications are now OPEN. The apply for a race spot, send a PM to my account, silvermoondragon, either on the forum or PI(pm’s sent to Sushidragon may get missed or you miss getting the spot you want), with the subject as Frightful Fog and the following form filled out:

Applications will be open until 4:00pm PST, October 31. The race will be run that evening October 31, around 7:00pm PST(race may be intermittently interrupted by trick-or-treaters).

Prizes

Here are the spooky prizes available, one of each hairclip is available for each of the races:
Pumpkin hairclip: Offspring will have the Perennial Growth trait, but the 'tree' will be a pumpkin stem.
Vampire hairclip: Offspring will have fangs.
Ghost hairclip: Offspring will have ghostly, ethereal wings.

First place

- First pick from the hairclips(pumpkin, vampire, or ghost).
- One modiem of choice
- One random modiem

Second place

- Second pick from the hairclips(pumpkin, vampire, or ghost).
- One modiem of choice

- The hairclip left over
- One random modiem

I saw the post for non-owners, but my choice in whose going to compete changes with each race, and that would be way too annoying to change for each new race XD

A line up of 10 Samanayrs are getting ready to start out on their race. The fog swirls around their feet and the damp feeling clings to them, reminding them of the challenges they will be facing in this race.

In a flash the racers are off, small clouds of fog swirling around behind their feet.

And everyone else too, but, ya know... XD

Come on, Retinue. You have long legs. You can do it!

As the racers run on through the fog, they have no idea how they're doing as the fog clouds both the other racers and any audience members that managed to find their way to the course.

Our fastest racers now come across our first obstacle, heavily cracked and uneven ground. No too difficult an obstacle on it's own, but much more of a challenge when the fog covers everything.

Curse you tricksy fog. Go, Retinue, Go!

Another round, another obstacle. This time there's a set of menacing eyes peering out at the races. More than a little frightening as the fog tightens in on our racers.

Oh my goodness gracious Gertrude! Ero look at how far you zoomed up! Woohoo!!

The cracked ground seems be be tripping up our last few racers, but the leaders are wary of any future obstacles. The fog doesn't show signs of letting up any time soon.

*is nervous* You can do it, Retinue.

Our racers now come across a few more obstacles, the first being a swarm of bats, disturbed by the oncoming racers. The next is the dark cave that the bats live in.
