Designs and Dreaming!

XD Ok, the title may sound weird, but this I where I'm going to be coming (repeatedly, over time) to post images of Sams I want to get in the future, random designs that just begged to be drawn, and other such fun stuff.
None of the Samanayrs in here actually exist yet. ^^; Sorry!

So, to kick things off, lets start with my design entry for the 200th Contest! Some of you might remember my crudely scanned image, hrm? Well, I decided the other day to go back and digitalise it, to back the colors more visible, and so that I could tamper with it a little.

Single Horn
Integrated Draconic Tail
A single row of Spines, which have been replaced with ones made from the same diamond-like material that encases the tail.

The accessories include chain-linked silver cuffs on every spike, and two separate chains hanging from the horn, from which dangle a woven-crystal feather and a silver tear.

XD Yeah, I'm good at shiny shading. XD I'm debating giving him Scaled skin, and getting rid of the foot tufts. -ponders-

Dreadlocks are more of a Tribal-species-specific trait, methinks. But yeah, if you get rid of the foot tufts then you might have to do something about the mane, since it would be the only hair on it and looks sort of strange. I love the markings. I think hairless sort of looks better than scales with that shine you've got going there, but either would probably look fine.

I kinda like the foot tufts on him, as for scales, I havn't seen enough scaled skin sams to really be able to decide, but if you just had a few scales, kind-of like the kirins, that might look kinda cool.

Ooh, I'm glad to see you finished him I really liked the idea of his Integrated bits, and I love how you've rendered them!

Dreadlocks aren't species-specific (I just don't do them very often XD).. I think it might be cool to give him some scattered groupings of scales, maybe even made out of the same integrated material?

Well, seeing as I'm going to be on a plane all day tomorrow, I thought I might as well get in some Sam art during the long, boring hours. XD So sometime in the next few days I'll be posting an image of a Sam I hope to snag a custom slot for in the near future.

As a teaser, here's the custom form I have ready;

Colors/markings description: Black base, with flecks of deep red and pale grey scattered randomly around his eyes and forehead.
Special traits (optional): Tendrils of fire and smoke and shadows and blood (re, um, I mean… ketchup, yeah. ) trail in the air behind his body when he walks. He sports a new trait, 'Multiple Eyes', giving him a set of eight spider-like eyes that are a deep blood red in color and glow brightly with Bioluminescence.
Accessories (optional): N/A
A few words describing personality: Evil, twisted, completely insane, and not in the cute kinda-jack-sparrowish way, more in the scary SAW way.

Working on some unique elemental ideas which have been bouncing around in my head... Thaaat will likely never actually happen, as I always forget to jump on custom slots. |D

Markings and colors: All greyish-white, splatter-type crimson markings up legs and on back of neck and rump. Horns dark grey, eyes and tail-tuft crimson.
Traits:
- Necrosis (New Trait - All or part of the Samanayr is dead/decaying yet kept mobile through the use of magic.) -- Skull-faced and exposed ribs.
- Tufted Tail + Necrosis (Fleshless spinal tail with tuft.)

Accessories (optional): Ribbons threaded through bones of various sizes and worn as accessories on various parts of the body.
A word or two about personality: Despite his terrifying looks, and the fact that his skull is always in a macabre parody of a crazed grin, Reaper is mostly a calm, almost emotionless entity who siphons the life from the very old or mortally wounded to ease their death. Can animate small skeletal 'critters' from remains, using them as trackers and messengers to those soon to die.
